6. People have needs, speak to their needs. Develop topics and messages that are relevant to their needs. People have problems in their lives. Pray before and after you preach and you will have God partner with you in transforming lives.
7. People get discouraged, encourage them. We are able to comfort others by the comfort we have received, 2 Cor 1:4. It is because of this ministry that we have the Holy Spirit, our Comforter. Attacks are hottest when you are at the verge of your breakthrough.
8. People want to succeed, so them how. Show your people how to succeed; show people "How to Do".
9. People desire relationships, provide them with community. Create social groups, communities, and other small groups where they can feel among. People stay in churches where they build relationships. Spiritual meetings are not enough, introduce other varieties.
10. People look for models, be a model for them.
11. People are fallen, provide them the Cross, Gal 3:13-14.
12. People hurt people, help them forgive. Apart from the forgiveness of God, they need to forgive people that have offended them, Matt 5:23-24.
Lord help me to master these issues. Enable me by your grace become a true shepherd to the people you have placed in my care. Grow these qualities in me and equip me with the tools you used to shape the lives of your sons around the world and I yield myself totally to your leadership in my life, in Jesus Name!
